2 OR 3 GATHERED TOGETHER, INC. seeks to invest in the education of our children in Public Schools by collaborating with Parent Coordinators, Administration, and Parent Associations to make the schools more empowered.
EMPOWERMENT OF PTA’S AND TEACHER COORDINATORS PROGRAM
In order to make the greatest amount of impact in the education of a child, the parent association must actively reach out to parents to engage their involvement. Financial restrictions create obstacles for today’s Parent Association who seeks to find creative ways to reach out to the community. Our nonprofit seeks to empower the PTA by offering a financial contribution into their general fund. The education of a child is the result of a collective effort between school, parents, and the community at large. Our community-based organization seeks to be an active participant in this process.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION / IMPLEMENTATION
2 or 3 Gathered Together, Inc. has worked together with the New York City Department of Education administrative, custodial staff, parent association, and school safety staff for the last 8 consecutive years. 2 or 3 Gathered Together, Inc. has a division of its company, which offers exceptional home furnishings, clothing, toys, books, music, paintings, to the community. We make these items available to through an in-kind distribution center, which serve as a satellite operation housed in public schools. The items have been donated to our non-profit from larger corporations who are seeking to make a difference in the lives of our children. The response has been tremendous as we were able to successfully provide a unique service to the community and give a portion of the proceeds towards increasing the Parent Association General Fund.

We make these items available to through an in-kind donation center, which serve as a satellite operation housed in public schools. The donation center are opened on Saturday mornings with items available to the community. The items have been donated to our non-profit from larger corporations who are seeking to make a difference in the lives of our children and underserved families.
